Ben 700 mila le copie distribuite in Giappone da Square Enix nei due formati UMD e DVD. Imminente (e prevedibilmente altrettanto gratificante per le casse della società) il lancio negli Stati Uniti.

CG film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children has stirred discussion amongst fans - some love it, some hate it - but regardless of which side you're on, you have to admit that with over 700,000 DVD and UMD copies sold in just three weeks, it's turned into a smart business decision for Square Enix.

Compare these sales to the Japanese game market. With the Advent Children DVD priced at around $40 and roughly $300 for the limited edition, pricing tends to be similar to an average game release. Plus, the main audience is obviously the gamers. Take into consideration the average top-selling game sells around 300-400k units during a three week period and Advent Children's sales are quite impressive.

In Japan, the film is selling on the same level as massive-scale Hollywood DVD releases, something unheard of for an animated film if your name isn't Miyazaki.

Advent Children will soon be released in the US, where sales are expected to skyrocket. Considering Final Fantasy VII has sold 9.58 million copies worldwide, Advent Children probably won't outsell the game it's based upon. But, hey, the game's over ten years old; Square Enix will probably be happy if it only sells a quarter of that.

Non si parla di un Vg ma di un film, in DVD, costato moltissimo e paragonabile ad una produzione Disney o Dreamworks.
Boh...a me pare poca cosa.

Hmmm non credo sai, ma attendo l'intervento di Rot per confermare le mie impressioni.   

Dalle immagini che ho visto non mi sembra tecnicamente all'altezza di Spirits Within. Alla Square sono rimasti scottati(ssimi) e mi sembra naturale che ci abbiano speso meno.

Anche le mie sono impressioni, ma dubito fortemente si possano fare paragoni fra le produzioni Disney o Dreamworks e il dvd Square.
Per quanto riguarda l'intera operazione ho solo un commento, anzi solo una sillaba: bah
