Nintendo put on an impressive show in mid September at the Nintendo Conference press event. But apparently they have even more to show.

The company announced today that it will hold the "Nintendo 3DS New Information Internet Presentation" on Friday (October 21). This pre-recorded presentation, hosted by CEO Satoru Iwata, will cover details that could not be covered during the September event.

As an example of what to expect from the event, Nintendo mentioned details on the 3DS system's November firmware update and Mario Kart 7's wireless play support.

The presentation will be held at 20:00 and will be broadcast at Ustream and Nico Nico Video. See Nintendo's page for links when the time comes.

In the current fiscal year, there have been some big intervals between the launches of expected titles. We are now making preparations to ensure that we will be able to provide a variety of consumers with a broad range of software options to choose from so that we can maintain the momentum for the platform.

I understand that a number of you are already aware of our solid software lineup starting from this holiday season. We are also making preparations in collaboration with third-party developers so that a continuous stream of expected titles shall be launched in the next fiscal year as well.

At the Nintendo 3DS Conference (held in Japan) in September and during the Nintendo Direct broadcast, we discussed some of the titles to be launched just after the holiday season. We are also preparing for additional titles.

Aiming for the next fiscal year, we are also working on new genres of software that may attract people who are not particularly interested in video games. In order to further expand the definition of video games and to create new software fields under our gaming population expansion strategy, we are planning to launch several new software titles in the next fiscal year.

Several new functions will be added to the Nintendo eShop.
For one thing, after a software title is launched, content can be added to it via the Nintendo eShop. This is a feature a number of software creators have been looking forward to. With the Nintendo 3DS system update this time, we can create that desired circumstance, so we should see an increase in the number of applicable software titles that will be launched from now on.

Another addition is the ability for the software publishers to provide the owners of Nintendo 3DS systems with demo versions of their software, for which they can put a limit on the number of trials. As you may know by now, the player reviews available at the Nintendo eShop have high credibility since only those who have played the subject software for one hour or more are eligible to cast a vote. More than one million reviews have been contributed to date worldwide. By combining this existing review mechanism with the demo versions, we would like to continue our endeavors to expand the number of opportunities for consumers to be able to notice the potential and appeal of new software titles.

In terms of its usability, we know that there still are several issues with the Nintendo eShop. We have made several improvements for this time. For example, software downloads can be done when Nintendo 3DS is in sleep mode, which will lessen the need for the users to patiently wait by while downloading several software titles at once or while downloading software with a large memory capacity.

Although this next feature is not going to be available with the next system update, we are now preparing for the Nintendo eShop to be available on the Web so that you can access it via PCs or smartphones too. As of now, the information available on our Nintendo eShop, including the reviews that I mentioned just now, is only available at the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS and it does not have a great affinity with the social media which are currently being used as a means to spread information. In other words, even if a software title receives an incredible review, majority of people will not know about it unless they access the Nintendo eShop with their Nintendo 3DS system.

We would like to solve this issue by making the Nintendo eShop accessible via PCs and smartphones as well. At the beginning, you will not be able to directly purchase software from your PC or smartphone. Instead, you will need to take a photo of a QR code at the Nintendo eShop by using the camera of your Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS will then open that specific page of the Nintendo eShop. That function is already included in the upcoming system update for the Nintendo 3DS. In the future, we will make it so that you will be able to purchase software by using your PC or smartphone

Novità eShop dell'imminente aggiornamento del firmware: arrivano i DLC e le demo (eventualmente limitate nel numero di utilizzi), la coda per download multipli e la possibilità di scaricare anche a console in sleep-mode.
Inoltre l'eShop sbarca sul web: inizialmente non sarà possibile acquistare direttamente nulla, ma avremo piuttosto un semplice catalogo ove, inquadrando con la fotocamera integrata del 3DS un apposito QRcode, si aprirà automaticamente la corrispettiva pagina eShop (sulla console!) del gioco in questione. In futuro è previsto che si possa procedere direttamente all'acquisto utilizzando quindi solo il semplice browser PC/smartphone.

Aggiornamento "a sorpresa" del firmware incluso in Super Mario 3D Land (perlomeno in versione giapponese), che anticipa in parte quello già ufficialmente annunciato da Nintendo e previsto per le prossime settimane: qualcuno su NeoGAF ha scoperto delle novità nella friends list, con una misteriosa (?) opzione che permette di aggregarsi al gioco attualmente in uso da un amico

Ma io penso sia per il colore. In fin dei conti, se pensi a Mario pensi ROSSO, mica BIANCO

In effetti non è che mi esalti particolarmente la scelta delle colorazioni per il bundle di Mario, e dire che sono juventino quindi il bianco&nero dovrebbe essere di mio gradimento.

Ma io penso sia per il colore. In fin dei conti, se pensi a Mario pensi ROSSO, mica BIANCO

Ma se io penso a Nintendo penso automaticamente BIANCO, sarà perchè in genere tutte le confezioni recenti sono bianche, così come il colore delle console.

Il bianco contrasta meglio coi colori del titolo del gioco.

A me piace
