Eh infatti il dubbio nasceva da tanti fattori che avete elencato:
1) quanto abbia seguito fedelmente la storia vera (faccio un po' fatica a credere che il personaggio reale nutrisse tutto questo amore per la moglie)
2) il fatto che abbia bevuto il veleno anche lui (il che poteva pure dire che fosse un semplice tranquillante)
3) il fatto che l'eroina fosse utilizzata come comune medicina

Scorsese: De Niro's character Hale does a mop-up operation, he kills off, silences all his associates. And then, as it's all circling, and circling and circling onto Ernest, Ernest feels his uncle wouldn't do that to him or Mollie. He thinks his uncle is going to take it to a point where Mollie would be OK. He'll be OK.

Interviewer: Does he not realize that he's killing Mollie?

As you worked with Eric Roth and DiCaprio on the script, his character Ernest Burkhart is a tad dim and does what his uncle tells him to do. Ernest loves his Osage wife Mollie at the same time that he's killing her. This becomes the heart of the movie?

We realized that was really the heart of the film. And having met with the Osage so many times and heard from Margie Burkhart, who was the great-great-granddaughter of Ernest, she knew them. She kept saying, "Don't forget it isn't as simple as villains and victims. You have to remember Mollie and Ernest were in love." And that always stayed with me when we were still working on the other version of the script. I said, "Well, if they're in love, we got to show that too." And then that became difficult in terms of showing all the machinations of the Bureau investigation. Plus, this love story, it was getting unwieldy. And then finally Leo said, "If I play Ernest, we could turn it upside down and go in from the ground level." And I said, "Absolutely."

Riguardo argomenti di top e flop al botteghino di cui parlavamo, leggendo certi approfondimenti mi rendo conto di quanto il realismo negli ultimi anni sia finito nel secchio. Mentre sia il mercato, sia le stime sono ormai irrimediabilmente "rotti".

Riguarda il film da vicino anche perché, al momento, al botteghino sta ancora sotto il budget di circa cinquanta milioni di dollari
Eppure c'è calma e nonchalance.

Io credo che la calma sia dovuta al fatto che tanto ad apple serve più che altro per averlo nel catalogo, non credo gli interessi quanto fa al cinema.

Vediamo che accadra' con Napoleone.
A societa' come Apple e Amazon inoltre il ritorno immediato dell'investimento e' di secondaria importanza avendo disponibilita' liquide sterminate, da qui la difficolta' a fargli i conti in tasca.
Apple sta iniziando a costruirsi un catalogo di film, che in rapporto alle serie tv e' numericamente molto scarso, e non e' da escludere la futura acquisizione di qualche concorrente da bravi squali quali sono.

Eh, niente, alla fine Napoleon e Wish esordiscono nel peggiore dei modi.
Oltre a essere film, come ampiamente anticipato, molto brutti, sono anche un fallimento commerciale epocale. Per Apple ci puo' stare, e' agli inizi e di errori(tipo chiamare uno squilibrato come Phoenix a interpretare Napoleone) ne fara' ancora parecchi ma per la Disney il suo pastrocchio ultrapoliticallycorrectinclusivochecausaconaticontinui doveva essere il tronco da cui si diramava il nuovo corso.
E poi dicono che le universita' migliori del mondo stanno nehli USA...
