So referring to your most recent Joystiq post ... It's awesome to hear you say that Alan Wake appears in your hearts – I've read through all the responses on your site which is fueled with positive responses. It really would seem Alan Wake is very close to the hearts of the fans out there, and to ours too. To that point, it's a shame that this news leaked before our official announcement which will of course include the visuals and information to support it. Well, now that the cat is out of the bag, we owe it to you and the fans to shed a little more light before we get the chance to officially show them what the guys have been up to.

Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake installment will not be Alan Wake 2. But neither will it be DLC. The rest we're saving for our official announcement when we'll actually SHOW YOU.
We are really excited about this project which a slice of our team has been working on for the last months. It's something that'll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren't familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board.

We can't wait to show you more, bear with us. Release dates, platforms and pricing are unconfirmed as of yet, but Fall 2011 is probably a good guess. More coming soon!

Alan Wake ritorna, ma per sapere con esattezza di che si tratta (sappiamo già che NON è un sequel) dovremo attendere gli annunci ufficiali... comunque sia il rilascio è previsto per l'autunno, quindi è estremamente probabile che se ne parli all'imminente E3.

Leggendo "tra le righe" del comunicato diffuso da Remedy:

- film e/o telefilm mi pare abbastanza improbabile (una software house si dovrebbe occupare di altro... anche se Kojima dissentirebbe )
- reboot condivido, non ha proprio senso IMHO farlo oggi

Rimane aperta la faccenda di "dare l'opportunità ai giocatori che sconoscono il franchise".
Qui il discorso potrebbe riguardare:
- sbarco su altre piattaforme; possibile secondo me (non so però se l'IP sia in mano a Microsoft, in questo caso ovviamente non se ne parla), ma dubito possa trattarsi di migrazione, quanto piuttosto di sviluppo multipiattaforma --> e magari potrebbe anche semplicemente trattarsi di un tardivo porting di Alan Wake
- spin-off per Kinect
- spin-off... e basta

Però alcune cose non mi tornano: uno spin-off per Kinect non penso sarebbe gradito all'attuale userbase (e nel comunicato si parla pure di "offrire dell'altro ai fan di Wake", quindi quelli esistenti), mentre un eventuale porting PC e/o PS3 potrebbe certo tornare utile ad allargare l'utenza, ma ai vecchi fan credo interesserebbe ben poco.

Forse l'unica è lo spin-off, magari con qualche aggiunta pro-casual (opzionale, non indispensabile/esclusiva, insomma non Kinect-only ma Kinect-enabled ) in modo da far contenti tutti. Vedremo.

Quick clarification re: Alan Wake VGA announcement: It's a standalone download game through Xbox Live, not Alan Wake 2.

Il nuovo titolo del franchise sarà un gioco standalone in digital delivery (Xbox Live Marketplace) e le prime immagini verranno diffuse lunedì, in vista di una vera e propria presentazione ai VGA di dicembre:
