E' arrivata la prima preview dei "lavori in corso" (preceduta già da svariate settimane dal primo mp3, è che ho dimenticato di postarlo ), con una simpatica alternanza tra il sound originale Amiga, quello del medley inserito in Shades e, appunto, il nuovo lavoro di adesso.

Credo ci siano, almeno potenzialmente, tutti i presupposti per un disco epocale.

We are very excited to announce yet another guest artist who created a special bonus piece for our fourth CD and it is none other than Vince DiCola, who is well-known for his unbelievably cool Transformers (the animated movie) and Rocky IV motion picture scores. As you may know, the C64 version of Turrican contained a piece that was "a little more" than just inspired by Vince DiCola's work. We are extremely proud and happy that he agreed to be part of this project! Vince and co-artist/partner Kenny Meriedeth have created a powerful piece of music that captures and extends some of Vince's well known melodies and fits right into the world of Turrican. In a way, this collaboration will really round out the Turrican Soundtrack Anthology and is a gift for us as well as all our backers and supporters.

Wow, nel progetto hanno coinvolto anche nientepopodimeno che Vince DiCola (Rocky IV!!!), che curerà un remix del quale è possibile ascoltare un estratto al link sopraindicato.

From where we stand today, we'll need just a bit more time to get a few Album tracks, the booklet and other print items right, but we're definitely at around 95% for the project and I would say we're about 3-4 weeks from mastering and manufacturing.

Now with that said, I don't want to jinx anything by giving you an exact date, but we think we should be able to finally start shipping beginning of December.

Just a quick note since everybody is getting excited (including me) -- the mastering is done! I'm still very busy with a lot of stuff that needs to be taken care of on the logistics side, so I did not get to preparing a regular update, but it's coming in a few days and I will try to answer the most pressing questions!

Ho finito di ascoltare più o meno sommariamente tutto il materiale dei quattro (!!!) CD.

Pur con qualche (credo) inevitabile sbavatura devo dire che Chris ha svolto un lavoro superbo nel lasciare pressoché intatto il caldo feeling delle composizioni originali su Amiga* per come le ho amate... e amo tuttora, ovvero da 20+ anni a questa parte. Imperdibile.

* = formalmente (uscì prima su Amiga per chissà quali beghe) Turrican3 è un porting di Mega Turrican per MD quindi presumo che i brani siano stati originariamente composti proprio sulla macchina di Sega. Ma io son nato e cresciuto su hardware Commodore ed è proprio lì che ho conosciuto e apprezzato il trittico Turrican 1-2-3.

Ed eccolo in tutto il suo splendore il "malloppo" destinato ai finanziatori del progetto a partire dal mio livello.

Nello specifico abbiamo:
- il quadruplo CD (ovviamente!), numerato e autografato
- tre poster esclusivi
- cartolina celebrativa
- pendisk USB a tema con tutte le colonne sonore originali dei Turrican registrate direttamente da Amiga / Megadrive / Super Nintendo

Devo segnalare ahimè che per via di alcuni problemi produttivi alcuni dischi presentano dei malfunzionamenti (fortunatamente avendo gli MP3 / FLAC l'impatto della cosa è stato enormemente minimizzato), ragion per cui il buon Chris ha già provveduto ad inviarmi un nuovo set di CD in sostituzione.

Poco importa comunque, non posso che ribadire: siamo davanti ad un piccolo-grande sogno che è diventato, finalmente, realtà. :)
