Much like the Sonic article we posted just yesterday, nothing is really wrong with not taking things immediately at face value. Research is important, wit and wisdom is necessary. You might actually need all three with this: images of PlayStation 3, take note, plugged in and turned on.

An anonymous insider over at PS3 Forums (with registered nick "ps3insider") uploaded the two pictures of Sony's coming next-gen console up and running. Both images were taken using a mobile phone. The first picture is a bit tricky, but the green and blue LEDs remind us of PS2. Also, the shot is vertical meaning the floor is at the right side. On the other hand, the next picture shows the back of the PS3. The cable nearer the power switch is the power cable. The other cable is the HDMI cable that goes to the TV.

Also, the insides reported that the console is very quiet save for a little noise at the start while it is booting. He also mentioned the unit they had was turned on for 12 hours and is still working fine with no overheating problems whatsoever. Unfortunately, the insider could not reveal where he got the pictures and how.
