CitazioneThe trilogy would have included Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, and Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike, all updated for Wii.

- originally in the works for the Xbox
- Factor 5 became interested in motion controls on Wii
- the team decided to resurrect the Xbox Star Wars Trilogy project for Wii
- the team salvaged the code and started bringing the game over
- the project was 50% done on Xbox
- all control schemes were supported, including GameCube controller and various peripherals
- you could even use the Wii wheel to control your X-Wing, using the balance board for pedals
- revamped content included speeder bike racing levels, third-person action sequences, and lightsaber battles
- lightsaber battles used 1:1 motion controls
- all-new graphics engine running at 60 frames per second
- the project was completed, but then cancelled
- cancellation is blamed on the financial crisis of 2008
- other publishers tried to help out
- unfortunately, financial hardship, legal snafus and budgetary restrictions killed the game
- Julian Eggebrecht, former president of Factor 5 loves the Wii U, but its unpredictable trajectory and licensing troubles in general make a new Star Wars Wii U game unlikely

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/10/13/cancelled-star-wars-rogue-squadron-wii-game-footage-found

Citazione- they solves all outstanding legal issues with all Factor 5 entities, also the US one.
- Factor 5 GmbH, the German company, is a legally registered company again since a few weeks.
- they've bought back all their right to their old own IPs
- this also includes all IPs from former German publishers Rainbow Arts and Softgold, which were with THQ prior to their bankruptcy.
- He won't confirm any development starting but it is their idea to bring back old IPs and games and maybe develop further sequels "at some point".

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=232100097&postcount=107

Citazione- Factor V Media Production GmbH renamed to Factor 5 GmbH
- legal fights in the US have ended
- Own Softgold and Rainbow Arts licenses, source code, etc.
- Plan to re-release old titles sometime in future

Factor 5 GmbH was liquidated in 2011. The company was reformed under a new name (Factor V Media Production GmbH) and now they've taken on that name again.

Importantissimo il punto 3, credo.

CitazioneRoughly translated: The german Factor 5 bought all trademarks from the bankcrupt THQ, including Turrican and they would like to make a new Turrican. Even Manfred Trenz would be on board and Chris Huelsbeck asks him when they´ll start every two weeks. But it wouln´t be as simple as making a kickstarter and collecting the money, the´ll just have find the time.

:asd:

CitazioneThe name change of Factor V Media Production GmbH into Factor 5 GmbH was brought up to the registry office on Feb 14 and published on Feb 21. Factually that was simply renaming an existing company.

Factor 5 - Eggebrecht, Engel, Schmidt GbR got the Turrican trademark on May 12, 2011 already. They bought it from Sabreclash Incorporated for 1000 USD (same happened with 'Factor 5', 'Katakis' and 'MusyX' trademarks).

Who is Sabreclash Incorporated? They purchased the trademarks from WhiteHarvest, LLC on September 8, 2010. WhiteHarvest, LLC was BluHarvest, LLC until February 5, 2009. BluHarvest, LLC purchased the aforementioned assets on December 8, 2008 - from Factor 5 Inc. That company was granted the trademark in 2004, after applying for it in 2002.

So what happened here? The Factor 5 owners apparently quickly sold Factor 5 assets (incl. the Turrican trademarks) to WhiteHarvest, LLC. That company continued working on some Wii games, e.g. that Wii Flight game and the Wii port of Brutal Legend, after the closure of Factor 5, Inc. Sabreclash, just like BluHarvest/WhiteHarvest the name is a reference to Star Wars, is also just the same thing under a different umbrella. It all looks a bit dodgy - they seemingly tried to "rescue" those Factor 5, Inc. assets from creditors.

In the end, they never really lost the Turrican trademark in all those years. What happened with assets to Rogue Squadron assets/source code after the sale to WhiteHarvest, LLC? Those were also sold to Sabreclash Incorporated, the sales agreement heavily points towards that even if the respective part in the sale agreement is partly blacked out.

CitazioneThe 2007 Turrican prototype is absolutely awesome. Kudos to @mworch ! We will have it at next years' Gamescom - promised!

:look:

Citazione[...] Mr Trenz and Factor 5 in Germany are fighting for the rights and Trenz got them for Germany but F5 got them for Europe... and it doesn't make any sense at all.

That has been relegated to an Urban Myth a long time ago when both parties settled any differences around the Turrican trademark. Ownership of all the Turrican games and name worldwide is with Factor 5, with Manfred being a major beneficiary and partner if anything new happens with it. In addition, F5 also bought all rights to the Rainbow Arts / Time Warp / Softgold library of games and all IP (trademarks etc.) associated when THQ went bancrupt a few years ago. That includes Katakis, Giana Sisters, MadTV and a lot of other German classics.

Questa me l'ero persa come al solito. :|

Citazione"Lair was a genuine fuck-up by everybody involved, probably me the worst," says Julian Eggebrecht, one of Factor 5's co-founders, about the studio's disappointing PlayStation 3 game. The approximately $25 million project, a game about dragons and fantasy warfare, took three years to develop, which included a yearlong delay. From faulty studio decisions, publisher strife and arguments regarding studio dynamics, Lair fought its way out from the studio that created it.

Lair itself did not ruin Factor 5 — although the circumstances didn't help — but it ended a relationship with Sony and left the studio dangling in searching of a follow-up project that never came.
