In pratica, DQX può essere giocato completamente in singolo, ma solo alcune ore di gioco possono essere giocate offline: infatti "per usufruire di tutti gli elementi di DQX, occorre una connessione a Internet".

Potrebbe anche trattarsi di una forma di protezione antipirateria secondo me...

PS: per la cronaca, dal solito GAF si apprende che è confermata la necessità di un canone di abbonamento, ma direi che era scontato... resta da capire se in Occidente faranno lo stesso oppure se si opterà per una strategia alla Monster Hunter Tri, che appunto era a pagamento in terra nipponica ma gratuito in USA ed Europa (scelta sicuramente dettata dalla scarsa popolarità del brand dalle nostre parti in confronto al Giappone)

Oggi è stata aperta la beta di Dragon Quest X!

Dragon Quest X general director Yuji Horii, producer Yosuke Saito and director Jin Fujizawa welcome you to the Dragon Quest X beta... assuming you made the cut, of course.

Square Enix created Dragon Quest X style profile pics of the three developers for a greeting at the game's beta tester site today, just as the beta test began.
For those not fortunate enough to have made it into the beta test, the beta tester site is still wroth a visit, as it provides an early look at some areas of the game.
The site has a section on installing the game. After inserting the DQX disc, you select the DQX channel from the Wii menu. The game formats and installs the necessary data to your USB memory card (which must have at least 16 gigabytes capacity). The actual beta program is booted up from the USB install.

As one might expect of an online game, DQX has a version up process. The game also requires that you have connected to the Wii Shopping Channel at least once, or it prompts you to do so. To begin play, you'll be prompted to log in to your Square Enix Account.

The site also has a detailed guide to the game, showing the various facilities you'll encounter in town, the battle system, and character creation. Visit the site for details.

L'unica cosa imho è aspettare un video della beta, così vedremo per bene com'è strutturata (e in generale, se funziona bene ).

Dragon Quest X Beta Players Get a Dracky Hat

Not only do Dragon Quest X beta testers get to try out the game in advance of release, they'll also get a sweet little bonus. Testers will get a free Dranky Cap for use in the final version of the game.

La cosa davvero curiosa è che in questa versione il gioco è cloud-based:

This uses the same kind of cloud functionality that the smartphone version uses, so the game is not running natively on the 3DS and thus not limited by its hardware.
