Perhaps spooked by the fact the only people who seem to care about the impending launch of their Stadia home streaming platform are those noting everything wrong with it, Google has at the 11th hour—this thing is released in two days, on November 19!—almost doubled the number of games that'll be available when it goes live.

That's what you came here to find out, and I won't bury the lede: on Tuesday, November 19th, Google will launch a cloud service that truly lets you play big-budget games without discs or downloads, consoles or gaming PCs. That's because Stadia lets you stream the games you buy on servers in the cloud, and it's more reliable than any service I've tested in a decade covering the technology.

If you're expecting it to look or work as well as a high-end gaming PC or even a high-end game console, or if you're hoping for a killer app, you may come away disappointed. But the overarching reaction I had while playing Stadia was the same I have with half-decent headphones: I'd happily keep playing if I wasn't already spoiled.

All you need is a decent internet connection, a good Wi-Fi router, and your pick of Google's Chromecast Ultra dongle, Pixel phone, or the Chrome web browser on a laptop or desktop. Oh, and a lot of patience. Despite the charm and an improved slate of games, Google's cloud gaming service isn't anywhere near what the company initially promised in March. It's effectively a beta that Google is charging real money for, and you should wait until 2020 for that to change.

RDR2 si avvicina ai 60fps su browser, ma a 1080p mentre viaggia sui 30 a 4K sul Chromecast.

Al lancio non è obbligatorio il Chromecast Ultra?
Peraltro il Chromecast che danno col kit, non l'Ultra che si trova in giro stand alone.

È chiaro che questo sia un punto di partenza con tutti i problemi previsti e imprevisti e, sicuramente continueranno a investirci per raccogliere i frutti (non so quanti) molto più avanti.

Io comunque ancora non ho capito a chi si rivolge Stadia / come pensa di conquistare la fiducia della gente.

Mi sono appena accorto che i prezzi dei giochi sono del tutto folli.
Continuo a pensare che il servizio streaming debba funzionare a la Netflix, per un fisso mensile posso accedere ad una libreria di giochi senza davvero acquistarne uno. Comperare un gioco per giocarci in streaming e' qualcosa che un nonno come me stenta ancora a comprendere.

Ho letto quel fiume di tweet. Il tizio potrebbe avere ragione.
Sta di fatto che Stadia oggi è ben lontano dallo Stadia che avevano presentato, quello integrato con YouTube per intenderci.

Così io la vedo dura. Magari a Google questo lancio anticipato serve per fare lo stress test ai server, ma non devono dimenticare che chi oggi gioca Stadia lo fa perché ha pagato. Se va male l'impatto, poi diventa difficile risollevarsi (a meno di rendere il tutto gratuito per tutti e piazzare gli spot qua e là come accade proprio con YT).

Peraltro i prezzi sono stupidamente alti confrontati già al solo mercato console, figuriamoci a quello PC.
