Per gli extra io passo, boh non so valga la pena sborsare altri soldi dopo aver visto la versione "liscia".
Cmq sarebbe figo se qualcuno si prendesse la briga di far la stessa tipologia di prodotto sia sul mercato americano sia su quello jap. Si avrebbe così anche una visione completa di questa industria.

P.s. Ma quel Matthew Smith..  :look: :sweat:

Chiaramente la premessa è che sono valutazioni (molto) soggettive, ma a mio parere la risposta è "sì", semplicemente perchè laddove il docufilm offre una visione d'insieme del periodo, gli extras sono in buona sostanza dei mini making of dei singoli prodotti. Insomma per come la vedo io la complementarietà è estrema.

Beh l'ho detto, sono dei mini making of di durata variabile: sono quasi tutti monotematici (gioco XYZ) ma ce ne stanno anche un paio che potremmo definire più tecnici, come quelli sulla musica con Rob Hubbard o l'altro sul 3D del capoccia di Argonaut. :D

Inutile aggiungere che comprendo benissimo il fattore (mancanza di) localizzazione/sub eh...

Nel weekend ho riguardato il documentario, stavolta finalmente coi sottotitoli.

Un po' il commentarlo in diretta con gli amici la prima volta, un po' qualcuno (Archer Maclean su tutti) del quale proprio non capivo mezza sillaba, insomma devo dire che poterlo visionare con l'aggiunta dei sub in inglese mi ha permesso di portare il tasso di comprensione ad un buon 90-95%... laddove allora a stento sarò stato sul 40-50%.

Alcune cose inizialmente mi erano del tutto sfuggite, come ad esempio l'amarezza di Turner (Graftgold, quelli del porting di Rainbow Island su Amiga per intenderci) quando ha dovuto licenziare tutti perchè non poteva garantire lo stipendio, abbandonando in seguito il mercato dei VG.

Docu-capolavoro. :sisi:

Preferisco quasi sempre i sub eng, anche per tenere in allenamento la conoscenza della lingua vs pronuncia. :sisi:
(da un'analisi superficiale mi è sembrato comunque che l'adattamento italiano sia stato molto buono ma non ho approfondito più di tanto)

Many of you will recall that last year we postponed production on our Commodore 64 film, well we are now planning to get our Commodore 64 feature film up and running again soon so do keep an eye out for news on that (especially our new YouTube Channel Ant and Nic's Cabin Fever...you have been duly tipped off!)

We have spent time communicating with some legendary Commodore 64 developers which include in the US and Germany, and for anyone who has tracked our work over the years will know we love the challenge of filming those who don't like appearing on film and then surprising you when they pop up and Nic and I feel this will certainly be the case with this new one.

This new film will cover all aspects of the Commodore 64, where it came from, engineers involved, key game designers and of course the music thanks to the SID chip! Our aim is to make this Commodore 64 film highly comprehensive, with the biggest line-up of interviews you could ever hope for, while also celebrating 40 years of the machine.  All, very exciting and we can't wait to talk about the Commodore 64 feature film with you all very soon.

The Amiga - Unfinished Business - The A500 and beyond!

We posted an update on our Amiga Years Kickstarter campaign late last year to test the water to see if there was anyone interested in us revisiting the Amiga as we have so much unused footage and the response was overwhelming!

We have been toying with the idea of releasing some further material on the A500 which is 35 years old this year (as we already have all the footage needed) as much of those sections were cut from The Amiga Years feature film for time constraints! Many of you have suggested we explore the possibility of using Patreon as a way to fund getting some of this out to those who want to see it in as professional a way as possible, along with other footage we have, as we have hundreds of hours of unused footage accumulated across 3 films and is being added to all the time!

We are also interested in using our footage to tell the rest of the Commodore story beyond what was covered in The Amiga Years film and all the remaining versions of the Amiga that appeared after the A500. We have so many incredible stories that may work better released incrementally and Patreon may be the way for us to release longer sequences.

The Gaming Chronicles - Patreon

As just mentioned in The Amiga section over the years so many of you have asked for more of our unreleased film material to be released and we've been trying to think of how this may be possible.

As we have so much footage with so much potential we are looking at Patreon as a way of perhaps funding us to incrementally release properly produced sequences from across our films which can include game makings of, but also entire topics that were cut from the earlier films.

For example in the original From Bedrooms to Billions movie there were huge sections on the early industry like game making ofs, tape duplication, hardware horrors, hardware innovations, code radio broadcasts of the 70's, MUD, piracy, publishers, development houses, loads more on the hardware (the entire Amstrad CPC section was cut originally), The Konix Multi- System and so many other subjects, quite honestly it's a very long list and it's the same for all three films.

We also have more than enough material to do specific episodic content that can focus just on a specific subject, for example the evolution of graphics, or sound, programming, hardware etc etc. We just wanted you to know we are currently exploring this and Patreon may be a way in which we can create material for a core audience that wants to see properly produced videos on a more regular basis and are happy to help support us to do this. We would love to hear from you on what you think of these ideas and how you would like to see media such as this? We are thinking that if we accumulate enough properly edited up sequences or episodes then they can be released each year in some form of physical format, or digital collection that goes along with the films you already have from us.

Metto qua perchè mi pare più "rispettoso" nei confronti del documentario originale.

Allora, le notizie in soldoni sono due e sono una più bella dell'altra. :inlove:

La prima è la conferma/ripresa dei lavori su un docufilm dedicato esclusivamente al C64. E credo non serva aggiungere altro. :D

La seconda è che potrebbero arrivare dei contenuti supplementari di From Bedrooms to Billions - The Amiga Years (sempre loro) ma probabilmente sotto forma di mini-serie a episodi.

Ed anche questa è una notizia che si commenta da sola per quel che mi riguarda. :asd:  :gogogo:
