Cosa bolle in pentola negli studi di Criterion?

Criterion is ready to move on from the racing genre, according to a string of tweets from studio boss Alex Ward.

Ward moved to debunk rumours that Criterion is working on a new Need For Speed Underground title earlier this week, and has now added that his studio is ready to tackle a different kind of project, away from the genre in which it made its name.

"After over a decade of making racing games it's time to make something new," said Ward. "It is early days thus I have nothing to "announce" or talk about"

Ward also dismissed the idea that the studio is working on new Burnout, Road Rash or a sequel to PS2 shooter Black in further tweets on the subject of the studio's future: "Here is what I want folks to know. Some folks are eternally disappointed. Nothing I can do about that. So many tweets asking for new Burnout...equally many tweets asking for a new NFS game from us. Also Road Rash. Whilst I love all of those games, I am personally not doing any."

"But if you are following me expecting some Megaton of a new Burnout game, or an Underground remake then I have to disappoint you...No Black 2 either folks. Volumes to tell on that topic, but will save that for when I get a book deal."

...qualunque cosa sia, non sarà un gioco di corse e nemmeno un sequel di Black, ma "qualcosa di nuovo" secondo Alex Ward.

Quindi niente Black 2, ma nemmeno un nuovo Burnout, un nuovo NFS o un nuovo Road Rash, tutti esplicitamente citati (ed esclusi) dal capoccia di Criterion.

Sempre ammesso che quello sia vero, ultimamente non ho potuto seguire bene il mondo dei VG...

EDIT: Aggiungo che ci sta che i Criterion si misurino con qualcosa di diverso da Burnout (benché personalmente mi aspetto un vero Paradise 2 nextgen) e dai Need for Speed dove EA secondo me controlla fin troppo il team che sviluppa l'episodio annuale, ci sono troppi paletti.

Li vedrei bene in un action arcade in terza persona.

Beh a questo punto direi proprio di sì.
Riguardo il fare qualcosa di diverso boh, Black all'epoca lo giochicchiai abbastanza e mi fece una buona impressione, vediamo che tirano fuori. :)
