PlayStation Business Briefing Confirmed

PS3 details incoming? Fingers crossed.

As Koei let slip last week, there is, in fact, a PlayStation announcement of some kind happening tomorrow, March 15th, in Japan. Sony will hold the "PlayStation Business Briefing 2006 March" in Tokyo from 3pm, and the reigning king of the console industry himself, Mr. Ken Kutaragi, will be making an appearance. What he will be talking about is still shrouded in mystery, however.

The official statement, issued today through Reuters, is that the meeting will be an event to announce the future of the PlayStation side of Sony's business, which is particularly vague, although if we consider Koei's comments, it is highly likely there will be some mention of the the PlayStation 3. Next week also sees the Game Developer Conference 2006 taking place in the US, where it's known some SCEA developers will be speaking.

At the very least, we hope to hear some rough details about a launch schedule and software lineup, whether it's coming in spring or not, and with any luck, some more info about the final design of the console and controller. We can only dream at this point...
