CitazioneWe continually strive to make PlayStation Network the most innovative console game and entertainment service and that's why we're thrilled to announce a three-year, $20 million dollar investment plan to develop PSN exclusive games. Our line of PSN exclusives has had great success with titles such as Joe Danger, Critter Crunch, Flower and the PixelJunk series, and we're excited to add new and different game experiences to this portfolio of games that can't be found on any other game console. This investment includes support across both our own network of first-party studios as well as for the Pub Fund, which was first introduced at GDC in 2009.

So what does this mean for you as a gamer? It means more unique, fun, innovative, edgy and higher quality game experiences on PSN that you won't find anywhere else! We are excited for the upcoming PSN exclusive titles that are part of this three-year plan, including Eufloria, Okabu, and Papo & Yo, which recently received several accolades at E3, including Best Puzzle Game by both IGN and GamePro. Under this investment, we're committed to delivering titles that have innovative gameplay mechanics, vibrant visuals, interesting storylines and an artistic element to interactive entertainment that can only be found on PlayStation Network.

CitazioneSony has confirmed that NTSC-J and NTSC-U PSone emulators are currently being prepared for release on European PlayStation Stores.

While no dates or titles have yet been confirmed, SCEE PlayStation Store Team member Ross McGrath revealed in a blog post that there are already US and Japanese titles being processed for release in the future.

The upshot of this is that publishers which possess the rights to release PSone titles that were previously only available in the US and/or Japan will now be able to apply for a European release on the store pending appropriate rating board assessment.

Successful games will be published "as is" in their original English or Japanese language states and will require a 60 Hz display to run.

CitazioneMost PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable download titles can currently be activated and played on five systems. That's about to change.

Sony announced today that it will be reducing the activation count from five to two. The turning date is November 18 following a scheduled PlayStation Network maintenance.

Any game purchased after the 18th can be activated and played on only two PSPs and two PS3s. Any game purchased before then will continue to have the current five system count (in other words, the two system limitation will not apply to purchases made before 11/18).

Sony groups PlayStation Vita under the PSP limit, so the two activation PSP count includes the upcoming system

Going along with this change, Sony will be making the process of deactivating systems simpler. Previously, you could only activate and deactivate a PS3 or PSP through the system itself. Sony will be opening a PlayStation Network account management website, and you'll now be able to handle your activation and deactivation from there.

UPDATE 2
Ecco l'articolo direttamente dal PlayStation Blog:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/11/04/upcoming-change-to-playstation-3-and-psp-game-content-on-playstation-network/

CitazioneWe’d like to inform you of some upcoming changes to the usage policies for PlayStation Network game content. As of November 18, 2011, the number of devices that can be activated on one PlayStation Network account for game content purchased from the PlayStation Store will be updated as follows:

For game content purchased after November 18, 2011, a new policy will apply and the number of devices that can be activated will be as follows:

PS3: Users will be able to play the game on up to 2 activated PS3 systems.
PSP: Users will be able to play the game on up to 2 activated PSP systems.

Please note that this update will not affect game content purchased before November 18. The PSP rights include PSP-1000/2000/3000 series as well as the PSPgo system.

PlayStation Network users are able to change the activation setting through each device, and Sony Computer Entertainment plans to provide a new PlayStation Network account management website where users will be able to deactivate particular devices attached to their PlayStation Network account via their PC.

==============

CitazioneOn February 7, 2012, Sony Network Entertainment International LLC ("SNEI") will update its Terms of Service and User Agreement and its Privacy Policy. As a part of this update, your "PlayStation®Network account" will be renamed a "Sony Entertainment Network account"

The first time you sign in to your Sony Entertainment Network account on or after February 7, 2012, you will be asked to agree to the new Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy with SNEI if you wish to continue using your Sony Entertainment Network account.
Please review all changes to the Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy carefully before indicating your agreement.

In particular, these are some of the additions and changes we have to these agreements:

  • New terms for parents of minor, subaccount holders regarding the limitations of chat parental controls. Your reacceptance of the Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy affirms your consent to the sharing of your child's data that may occur if your child utilizes certain communication functionalities on PlayStation devices such as PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita systems.
  • New terms that explain the location-based services offered through the PlayStation Vita system. For parents of minor, subaccount holders your reacceptance of the Terms of Service and User Agreement and Privacy Policy affirms your consent to your subaccount holder's user of these services on the PlayStation Vita system.
  • A description of our "What's New" section, which provides topical information about our services and advertisements.
  • Information about pre-ordering content.
  • The name of your "PlayStation Network account" is changing to a "Sony Entertainment Network account."

[...]

The rebranding of PlayStation Network accounts to Sony Entertainment Network accounts is a change in name only. Your username or password will not change, nor are we asking you to change them. On Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita systems, this rebranding will occur in connection with software updates for these devices. (Note, this change will not be applied to the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system at this time.)

This transition is based on Sony's goal to enhance its unique digital entertainment offering. As a series of these activities Sony started last September, PlayStation Network will be aligned with "Sony Entertainment Network." This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.

The Sony Entertainment Network account also enables use of Sony's compelling non-game services such as Music Unlimited, Video Unlimited and PlayMemories Online (currently called Personal Space) across a variety of network-connected devices. If you do not agree with the new Terms of Service and User Agreement or Privacy Policy, you may decline to accept them, and you will no longer be able to access your account.

The rebranding of PlayStation Network accounts to Sony Entertainment Network accounts is a change in name only
